What We Believe

"What comes into our minds when we think about God is the most important thing about us." - A.W. Tozer

God

We believe that there is one living and true God, eternally existing in three persons, the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, equal in power and glory; that this triune God created all, upholds all, and governs all.

Salvation

We believe in God The Father, an infinite, personal Spirit, perfect in holiness, wisdom, power and love; that He concerns Himself mercifully in the affairs of men; that He hears and answers prayer; and that He saves from sin and death all who come to Him through Jesus Christ.

Jesus Christ

We believe in Jesus Christ, that He is God the Son, God's only begotten Son, conceived by the Holy Spirit; that Jesus died on the cross in fulfillment of prophecy to atone for the sin of the world. He is the only Lamb of God through whom we obtain forgiveness of our sin; apart From Him there is no other way to the Father. We believe in His virgin birth, sinless life, miracles and teachings, substitutionary death on the cross and resurrection from the dead on the third day, ascension into heaven, perpetual intercession for His people, and His visible return to earth.

Holy Spirit

We believe in the Holy Spirit, Who came forth from the Father and Son to convict the world of sin, righteousness, and judgment, and to regenerate, sanctify and empower for ministry all who believe in Christ; We believe the Holy Spirit indwells every believer in Jesus Christ and that He is an abiding Helper, Teacher and Guide. We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit and in the scriptural exercise of the Biblical gifts of the Spirit.

The Word

We believe that the Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments are the Word of God, fully inspired without error in the original manuscripts, and the infallible rule of faith and practice.

Man

We believe that all are sinners by nature and choice and, therefore, under condemnation, that God regenerates by the Holy Spirit, those who repent of their sins and confess Jesus Christ as Lord; that Jesus Christ baptizes the seeking believer with the Holy Spirit and empowers for service, often subsequent to regeneration.

The Church

We believe in the universal Church, the living spiritual body of which Christ is the Head and all regenerated persons are members. He gave Himself for His church, His bride.

The Ordinances

We believe that Lord Jesus Christ committed two Ordinances to the Church;

1)Baptism

We believe in baptism by immersion and communion open to all believers. We do not believe in baptismal regeneration; some teach that the act of baptism ,whether of infants or adults brings salvation. The clear teaching in the light of Scripture is that we are saved by grace through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. Romans 10:9-10 clearly states," That if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation." Certainly the thief on the cross had no opportunity to be baptized, yet the Lord Jesus assured him of paradise that very day.

2)The Lord's Supper

We believe God's Spirit ministers to believers as they meditate on the work of Christ, and the benefits of His life and death on their behalf. We deny the doctrines of transubstantiation and consubstantiation.

The Return of Christ

We believe in the personal, visible (second) Return of Christ to earth and the establishment of His Kingdom; in the resurrection of the body, the final judgment and eternal blessing of the righteous and endless suffering of the wicked.
